From a simple, small outlet selling clothing in 1958, Matahari is today composed by more than 20.000 workers nationwide; The turnover went up from Rp. 11,2 billion in 1992 to more than Rp 9.8 trillion in 2007.
By the end of December 2007, Matahari had 4,5 million loyal customers which based on Matahari Club Card (MCC) membership represented a market share of around 2,5% from the overall 220 million population of Indonesia.
