Bank Ekonomi is established since 1990 and since May 2009 has been member HSBC Group.

As a member of the World's Local Bank, we would like to enlarge our business network and also give mutual advantage to customers.

Founded on March 8, 1990, Bank Ekonomi declared by Bank Indonesia as a sound bank for 24 consecutive months since opening and continues to survive today. Because the results of the evaluation is good, then in 1992, Bank Ekonomi successfully accredit foreign exchange bank status to that form of service to the community the more it can be expanded and developed.

At the age of 19, Bank Ekonomi has a network of branch offices and branches as many as 92 offices in 27 cities, such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Jakarta, Bogor, Bandung, Cirebon, Semarang, Solo, Kudus, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Surabaya, Malang, Medan, Rantau Prapat, Batam, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Pangkal Pinang, Bandar Lampung, Makassar, Manado, Banjarmasin, Balikpapan, Pontianak, Samarinda, and Denpasar.

Currently the Bank has succeeded in improving the service economy with On Line System to all branches / capem and the provision of ATM facilities are spread across strategic locations. The bank is also working with ATM ALTO network, ATM PRIMA networks and Debit PRIMA. The bank also provides phone banking and internet banking. All of which are aimed at customer satisfaction of Bank Ekonomi.

The bank continues to support its customers with the addition of the current branch network spread across 27 cities including the opening of branches of the latter in Manado, Pangkal Pinang, and Kudus bringing the total number of branches to 92 branches.

On May 22, 2009, HSBC Asia Pacific Holdings (UK) Limited has successfully completed the acquisition of 88.89% of the ownership of Bank Ekonomi. On this day, Bank Ekonomi has officially become a member of the HSBC Group, which has more than 9,500 offices in 86 countries and territories with assets of U.S. $ 2,527 billion (dated December 31, 2008), which today is one of the banking and the largest international financial services in the world.
