Isuzu in Indonesia has been on sale since 1960, the best known product is the Isuzu Bison. On May 3, 1974 founded the company with the name of PT. Pantja Motor by Pantja Niaga along with Ir. Rustam Darwis based in Jakarta. On May 6, shares of PT. Pantja Motor 100% belongs to PT. Pantja Niaga.

In 2008, signing of DTS (Deed of Transfer of Shares) held on February 4, 2008 date, the shares are released PT. Arya Kharisma to Isuzu Motors Ltd. as much as 14.88%, so the composition of the stock changed to PT. Arya Kharisma (Astra Int'l) 44.94%, 44.94% Isuzu Motors Ltd. and PT. PPI of 10:12%.

On 14 April 2008, via the RUPS it was decided the name of PT. Pantja Motor turn into PT. ISUZU ASTRA MOTOR INDONESIA.
