PT Astra Honda Motor is a company that manufactures motorcycles. The company was founded on June 11, 1971 under the name of PT Federal Motor. In 2000 the company began using its present name to the composition of ownership divided by PT Astra International Tbk and Honda.

Astra International was founded in 1957, based on a small trading business operated by brothers Tjia Kian Tie and William Soeryadjaya. The family had begun its trading activities by the 1940s, initially operated as a distributor of fruit juices and other agricultural and grocery goods, before adding a small export business as well.

Since 1990, the Company had been a public company, listed on both the Jakarta and Surabaya Stock Exchanges, now known as the Indonesia Stock Exchange with the Company’s market capitalization as of 31 December 2007 stood at IDR 110.5 trillion.

Currently, PT Astra Honda Motor has 3 assembly plant facility, the first factory is located Sunter, North Jakarta which also serves as the headquarters. The second factory is located in Pegangsaan Dua, Kelapa Gading, as well as the well as factory to the 3 most recent factory located in the MM 2100 West Cikarang, Bekasi. The plant is a facility to the three newest assembly plant that began operating since 2005.
